Rain, beautiful rain. The wedding of Debbie & Cherokee started out with a light mist as they got ready inside the Hampton Inn. The water dripping slowly from the trees seemed to make them look more saturated in color. The newlyweds-to-be decided to do a first look prior to the ceremony near Founder’s Landing. It’s hard to describe how beautiful that moment between the two of them was. They have been together for 15 years–and in that moment all of the showed. Their love was bursting at the seams.
They walked back, hand in hand, towards their ceremony site. Guests were taking a seat and the rain stopped. It seems like the universe fell perfectly in place for them. The music started and they made their way to the front, along side their children. The ceremony honored much more than just the two of them. It was a unity of their families and their love for the outdoors. It was wonderful. Shortly into the ceremony the fog rolled in from Lake Superior and far off in the distance thunder could be heard. Debbie & Cherokee said i do and within about 15 minutes the rain came crashing down. Giggles could be heard all around, it was fun to be caught in the rain.
Afterwards the happy couple joined us at a nearby location for their portraits. Once again the rain stopped like magic. The newlyweds walked in the woods, climbed in the water, and smiled with pure joy. We had an absolute blast capturing the two of them. Next it was onto their reception at Ore Dock Brewing. Family and friends were enjoying drinks, food, and cake, while Debbie & Cherokee took a moment on the swing to reflect on an amazing day. We absolutely loved capturing their wedding. Congrats to Debbie & Cherolkee on 15 years and many more to come. Enjoy.
