Sunset Along The Lake Shore

A while ago Trisha contacted us about doing her and her husband Jake’s portraits–but the timing didn’t quite work out until this fall. When the day arrived for their session we were excited to see the beautiful sunny weather shining down. Trisha & Jake got married a couple years ago and wanted to get professional pictures taken just because–which is one of our favorite reasons to photograph couples. Well, any reason to photograph a couple is fine with us, haha.

Trisha & Jake brought one of their dogs along with and met up with us at Twin Springs in Rapid River. We thought the warm weather would be crowds of people to the lake shore, but surprisingly the beach was completely empty. It allowed us to go anywhere we liked–which we adored for these love birds.

As we strolled down to the beach the sun beams shined through the trees and we could hear the waves splashing up onto the shore. We loved listening to Trisha & Jake talk about the marriage, pets, home life, and more. It’s beautiful to see a couple so completely smitten with each other even a couple years past their wedding, long past the honeymoon phase. We started their session on one of the many trails in the area, but as the sun started going down we wanted to head to the beach. After a quick outfit change the happy couple met us down along Lake Michigan. Watching the sun go down while photographing Trisha and Jake was such a wonderful way to end the session.

The wait was totally worth it, because we could not have had a better day for their session. Thanks again to Trisha and Jake for all the laughter and joy! We truly enjoyed capturing you both two years into your beautiful marriage. Enjoy!
